Version 2, Version 3
Installation of our templates is quick and simple when using SolusVM. Upload your template to the /vz/template/cache folder on your Master node. If you would like a download link so you can download the template directly to your master please contact our support team.
Then Add the new template in SolusVM under “Media > Add OpenVZ Template” Fill out the form and select the .tar.gz file you just uploaded to /vz/template/cache folder.
Ensure you pick the correct arch (i386/x32) (x86_64)/x64) for your template version and then save the form. Remember to sync the new template to any slaves you might be running. You can now create new VPS servers with your new template.
Depending on your current Kernel version will depend on which version of the software you need to purchase. Virtuozzo 7 nodes use Version 3 Kernel and run on CentOS 7 whilst the old OpenVZ nodes used CentOS 6 and Version 2 Kernel. To check which version you have just run “uname -a” in a console as the root user. Your Kernel version will start 2 (2.6.32-042stab126.1) or 3 (3.10.0-862.20.2.vz7.73.29). Version 3 Kernels also include “vz7”
